Evangelism

We are ordinary people that have a heart for the hurting and the lost. When we say lost we mean those that don't know who they really are or where they are going because they don't know Jesus as their personal Lord, Friend and Saviour.  The Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20, Mark 16:15-20) is for everybody. You can represent Jesus at work, at school, with your family, your friends, on the streets...etc. Just ask the Holy Spirit to give you divine appointments and He will...watch. It may look like a friend calling you up with a problem. That would give you a chance to pray for them. It could look like going to a store and noticing the cashier has a cold or a broken arm. You could ask to pray for them, and tell them that you serve a God that heals. As you step out of your comfort zones, you'll start to notice God doing things in the lives of those around you. Even if you don't see it right away...keep believing and you'll see!

*We suggest that you really get to know your Bible so you know what God's promises are; who you are in Christ Jesus; what He has to say about every situation and what you have victory and authority over as a child of God. It will change your perspective and how you see the world around you. When you read the Bible ask the Holy Spirit to give you a revelation of what you're reading so you can get the revelation God wants you to have.

If you want the gift of prophecy ask the Holy Spirit for it. Remember that the prophetic is to edify and uplift. Street Evangelism/ Outreach Ideas:

" Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you."(Isaiah 60:1 NKJV) We encourage the body of Christ to rise up and put the Great Commission into action. If you are feeling a leading to evangelize and share Jesus on the streets, we have given you some practical ways below of how you can put that into action. Remember to always follow the leading of the Holy Spirit because He knows best! These are just some ideas and suggestions. - You can partner up and walk around approaching people by saying some thing like

"Hi, we are walking around looking for people to pray for today, because we know Jesus answers prayers. Is there anything in your life you would like prayer for? "

You will be surprised how many people say "Yes". Then you can go from there as the Spirit leads with that person(s). Do use wisdom on how you approach people. Big groups can be intimidating to some people.

-Sometimes we walk around looking for people in wheelchairs, with crutches or obvious infirmities and we offer to pray for them.

-Walk around and pray, see if the Lord points out somebody specifically to pray and prophesy over. -Busking- If you or somebody in your group has a special talent. You can do a street act for the Kingdom of God. You may also want to give a couple minute speech on the truth of Jesus after your performance.

-Art-prophetic painting or any other types of artistic gifting you might have

- Set up prophetic booths at fairs, events, festivals, coffee shops, parks, etc... You could make a sign that reads something like "Free Spiritual Readings" or "Free Prophetic Readings". You could even place the sign on a sidewalk and prophesy to people right there. Explain what the prophetic is and pray to the Lord for a special message for that person.

-Go into a restaurant and ask God for a special message for your waiter, waitress or somebody else in the restaurant. It might be a word of knowledge, a prophetic word or even a word of encouragement or blessing.
Sometimes just hearing that Jesus loves them could change their situation.
If your waiter or waitress is busy you can write the message on a napkin and give it to them.

-skits, mimes...etc...the possibilities are endless. You can use the talents God has given you.

*Remember one of the most important parts to evangelism is PRAYER! Always pray before you go out. *When doing street outreaches we recommend that you stay under the covering of your church.

*Above are ideas on how to mobilize a planned outreach whether big or small.
Don't forget you can share Jesus in your everyday life. It doesn't have to be a planned thing it can be a part of your daily living. Go for it!
